Starting her career as a work study student BrySondra has held various roles including Director of Financial Aid & Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer.
Karen Emmer
Karen Emmer has over 25 years of experience as a Financial Director. She is currently the Director of Financial Aid at Cochise College Sierra Vista, Arizona. In her role, she oversees six campuses and supervises over ten employees. Her extensive experience includes working with all departments, including Admissions & Records, Advising, Campus Police, Counseling Department, Veteran Services, faculty, Student Activity and Services, in order to facilitate change. Karen has facilitated workshops and meetings with department heads, deans, and the president of the college to determine what works best for the school and the students.
Capri Harston
A seasoned higher education executive with a distinguished 26-year career, Capri Harston brings a proven track record of strategic leadership and financial acumen to the presidential role. Her deep understanding of both traditional and underserved institutions, coupled with a successful history of developing innovative programs, positions her as a transformative leader capable of driving institutional excellence.
Danielle Beaulieu
Danielle has worked in higher education for the past 17 years in academic advising and financial aid advising roles. Danielle is a native New Englander who graduated from Mount Ida College with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Higher Education – Student Affairs. She has been working directly with students in a financial aid advisory capacity for the last two years with specialized training in the re-entry process, the AR review, and the R2T4 calculations and packaging. Using her academic and financial aid backgrounds, Danielle is able to provide schools and students with the most up-to-date, informative, and realistic financial aid options.
Reba Smith
Dr. Reba Smith has over 30 years’ experience overseeing financial aid operations and compliance matters in institutions of higher education. Her experience includes serving as the Chief Compliance Officer, VP of Compliance and Financial Aid, Regional Financial Aid Director, Corporate Director of Financial Aid, and Director of Student Financial Operations; and she has also a U.S. Army veteran.
Jessica Cintron
Jessica Cintron is a dedicated Financial Aid professional with over thirteen years’ experience working in higher education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She started her financial aid career as a Financial Aid Assistant and moved her way up to a Financial Aid Manager where she acquired a variety of skills and experience.
Karen Gomez
Karen Gomez is a higher education professional with over 10 years of Financial Aid experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kean University and a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Seton Hall University. Throughout her career, she has served as a Financial Aid Counselor, Assistant Director of Financial Aid, and most currently the Associate Director of Student Financial Services.
Janice Garza
Janice Garza has over 20 years of experience in the financial aid office, beginning this journey as a student worker. Over the years, she has held various positions such as an advisor, financial literacy technician, loan advisor, associate director, quality assurance manager, and most recently the executive director of financial aid. She has worked at community colleges and four- year public universities where she has gained an extensive background in Title IV regulations. Her wide-range experiences include creating/implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, calculating R2T4s, processing professional judgment requests (including SAP appeals, unusual, and special circumstances), and performing federal verification, awarding/disbursing/administering federal, state, and institutional aid.
Jazmin Martin
Jazmin Martin is a seasoned Higher Education professional with a distinguished career spanning over 10 years in financial aid management. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, her journey in financial aid commenced and rapidly evolved alongside her pursuit of a Master’s degree in the field. Throughout her tenure, Jazzy has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the Financial Aid space, ascending to the role of Director of Financial Aid. In this capacity, she oversees a comprehensive range of responsibilities critical to student financial support and institutional compliance.
Beth Davenport
Beth Davenport has 25 years of experience in the administration of federal student aid, working at both private non-profit and proprietary schools. Her career began as a Financial Aid Counselor and she has more than 16 years of experience as a director. She has extensive knowledge of Title IV regulation. Beth has experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, modular programs, verification, awarding, disbursements, R2T4, SAP, campus-based programs, professional judgment appeals, and compliance and administration of federal, institutional, private, and state aid programs. She is well versed in audit and compliance process, writing policies and procedures, customer service, staff development and student recruitment and retention. Beth has over 20 years of experience working with PowerFAIDS. She is also a proficient user of PowerCampus, NSLDS, COD, and SAIG and is familiar with Slate.
